Thanksgiving menu frame

Thanksgiving at my house is a big affair. Everyone is welcome—and after all isn’t that the true spirit of Thanksgiving?  I don’t think I’ve ever had a Thanksgiving where there weren’t at least 15 guests at the table, eating and socializing.  Since I have so many guests with various food preferences and favorites, I create a pretty large buffet.  When my son was young he started to type (He was just learning keyboarding) the menu and the date.  After dinner he went around and got everyone to sign the menu.  He kept these signed menus as a lasting memento.  Although he mostly just placed the menu in a prominent area, I figured this year why not get one of those clear acrylic frames, decorate it with a Bowdabra bow and some glitter felt leaves to make it extra special.  I also want to thank Natalie from Marigolds loft for featuring Make it easy crafts! Check out her site today and you will be glad you did!

You will need:

·      8 x 10 Acrylic frame

·      18 inches Bowdabra bow wire

·      18 inches 1 ½” wired fall print ribbon

·      Glue gun and glue sticks

·      Glitter felt leaves

·      Small gold rhinestone

·      Menu printed on paper cut to 8 x 10 inches

·      Bowdabra mini bowmaker with ruler

·      Ruler

·      Scissors

1.     Gather your materials.  Place the ruler onto the mini Bowdabra. Cut 18 of Bowdabra Bow Wire and fold it in half.  Place the wire into the Mini Bowdabra.  You will have a loop at one end and two pieces of wire at the other.

2.     Place the ribbon into the Mini Bowdabra to create a 2 ½” tail.  Next, fold the ribbon to form a loop at the 2 1/2 mark.

3.     Fold a matching loop on the other side and trim the ribbon at the 2 1/2 mark

4.     Scrunch down the ribbon with the Mini Bowdabra Wand.  Next, take the wire tails and thread them through the loop.  Pull it tight and remove from the Bowmaker. Tie a knot in the back and fluff up the bow. Fold each tail and cut at an angle. Glue a gold or red rhinestone in the center of the bow.

5.     Use the glue gun to attach the bow to the top center of the frame and attach some glitter felt leaves down the side.  Insert your printed menu to display for your guests.
